We are accredited to ISO9001:2008 and are committed to ensuring high levels of quality are consistently attained. We can provide full PPAP documentation and ISIRs are conducted with our portable CMM capability. This gives us the ability to measure up to a 2.5m envelope. We pride ourselves in our skill and capability to determine and control New Product Introduction (NPI) allowing for a very short lead time on the introduction of new work. Finally, our layered auditing approach ensures consistency of manufacturing processes and quality standards.

Our highly skilled team of engineers and designers can assist and advise on the best method to develop your concept to a stage that allows it to be manufactured in the most efficient and cost effective way.

We will use our experience to amend designs so that they accommodate the best possible material utilisation resulting in lower raw material costs, but we can also advise on manufacturing methods to cut down on time, labour and movement costs.

We have the capability to design in AutoDesk Inventor using the latest simulation technologies to test designs, and Radan to enables material use maximisation.

Our four laser cutting systems, including two new MAZAK fibre optic lasers, can handle plate sizes of up to 4000mm x 2000mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 25mm. Also, in-house we have a range of HD plasma machines able to cut materials of thicknesses up to 40mm. Finally, our Technicut equipment offers a cutting service for material up to 100mm thick.

We operate CNC press brakes from 50 to 500 tonnes. The benefit of in-house machining and forming is that we are flexible enough to react quickly to changing and exacting customer demands.

Thomas Storey is one of the largest, privately-owned British steel fabrication companies with over 110,000 sq ft of fabrication capacity allowing us to adapt to customers’ changing and exacting requirements. Alongside our team of BSEN 287-1 approved welders and fabricators, we benefit from a range of robotic welding systems onsite enabling us to tailor output to requirement with ease.

Our state-of-the-art finishing plant onsite features the latest powder-coating and wet-painting technologies. There is a modern shot blasting facility as well as a Grade-A Oxsilan pre-treatment plant.

We offer both manual and automated washing facilities ensuring that we meet exacting cleanliness standards in the production of fuel and hydraulic tanks. The Thomas Storey teams of skilled fitters have extensive knowledge of completing complex assemblies including hydraulic systems, which allow products to be delivered line-side.
